Kurien Mathews
Kurien Mathews is a veteran in the field of advertising, media and brands. He started his career in 1983 at Chaitra Advertising (now Leo Burnett) as a trainee in Account Management.
In 1988, he co-founded Anthem Communications. Omnicom Group Inc. acquired a majority stake in Anthem Communications in 1998 and the agency became part of the Omnicom owned TBWA\ WW network. Kurien and his partners exited the JV after selling 100% of the equity to Omnicom in 2008.
Kurien is now actively involved with a more diverse set of industries. He serves as member of the Board of Directors of Rage Communications Pvt. Ltd. (A digital media services company), Conscious Food Pvt. Ltd. (An organic foods company) and Master Shipyard Pvt. Ltd. (A company that builds sailing yachts, small to medium sized inland and sea going cargo vessels).
His first book, Brands Under Fire was published by Penguin Portfolio in Jan. 2009.
